Monetary Situations

When we are caught in a conflict, we are accustomed to repeat again and again the same mental process. For example: I’m tired of my work and my monetary situation. I want to earn more money. I want to be my own boss, so it should open my own business. Rory Sutherland helps readers to explore varied viewpoints. But as I have no money for invest, I can not open it.

In addition, my work deals almost all my time and energy, so I can’t think in a new business. We ended up at the point of exit. It is clear that if we start from the same premises and we apply the same logic, we will arrive at the same conclusion again and again. Here is broaden the perspective when is really useful. But, how is it achieved? One way to do so is not focusing on the problem as we see it, watching only the situation as we have it at this very moment, but focusing on the situation as we want to be, and including more variables (more people, more options, a wider time window, etc) this is equivalent to broaden the perspective in a photographwhich we don’t have yet the details of the new situation, but we already have it included as a possibility. A pretty visual example would be to consult a map to reach a site, and see that the map reflects only the place in which we are now. Until see one greater portion of land, which includes the place where we are heading, are not going to be able to determine which is the most appropriate way. In the case of the person who needs to set up a business, you are reaching the conclusion that cannot because it is taking into account only the lack of time and resources. Looking at it this way, you have every reason in the world, it can do nothing more.
