Industrial Display Wraps

Innovative adhesives for industrial display bonding Windach, 11 June 2012: DELO industrial adhesives developed new adhesives for bonding of industrial displays and touch panels. Typical applications include large display bonding in industrial applications, as well as in the automobile or aircraft. The new optically transparent adhesives allow for better readability of displays in direct sunlight and increase mechanical stability. A direct bonding of the coverslip with an adhesive on the LCD in the refractive index significantly reduces reflections from the surroundings and annoying reflections. Adhesive properties are combined with good adhesion and yellowing stability as extreme softness and high optical transparency.

For the first time succeeded, with a completely new chemical to link these properties, which allows a hardening in shaded areas. With the help of the light-curing, displays quickly processed and allows for short cycle times. Then hardens the glue through a reaction with Humidity. For customers, this means that the components at room temperature after hardening and no further curing step is necessary. Due to the bonding, the display is more resistant and increasing the vibration and shock resistance. About DELO: DELO is a leading manufacturer of industrial adhesives based in Windach near Munich.

In the financial year 2011/12, 300 employees generated a turnover of 44.2 million euros. The company offers tailor-made special adhesives and systems for applications in specific sectors of the electronics to the smart cards and automotive industry as well as in the glass and plastics processing.

Optical Inspection

“Optical inspection of rubber shock absorbers from Karlsruhe the optical quality in the automotive industry has a new name: the cunning Klaus” is an image processing system, cost-efficient and reliable individual requirements in the production of auto parts. The optimum datamanagement solutions GmbH (www.optimum-gmbh.de) has developed an effective control of rubber cushions from Karlsruhe with their solution. The challenges were in this case, to separate the bulk material, and to identify possible sources of error in high speed, which are barely visible to the human eye. The database-driven image recognition from Karlsruhe takes over the Visual inspection of the components in this project. The crafty Klaus”reliably monitors that get no products to the customer, which are not properly made. It applies, various errors such as damaged teeth,”to detect ridges, bumps and cracked or deformed rings and to sort out. The system consists of a camera with a specific Lens, optimum lighting and an industrial computer. In addition come the individually programmed software and a special mechanical engineering adapted to the customer.

Individual solution pays off the challenge at the separation of the bulk material was that the parts often mesh connected, were stacked, or are strongly deformed due to the high elasticity compared to the manual effort. Existing control procedures were not suitable for the quality assurance. In cooperation with the partner company tech solutes, optimum has therefore developed a customized solution. The systematic variation resulted in an automated result. The process required much patience and effort, but also creativity and lots of new ideas to the successful realization of”Dr. Dirk Saleem, CEO of tech absolute GmbH & co. KG summarizes the development phase.

Also optimum CEO Wolfgang Mahanty is safe: If no standard solution is required, we need to dare us just on new terrain. But it motivates us of course immensely, to meet the expectations of our customers or even to surpass in this case!” New solutions thanks to intelligent image processing systems the separation takes place now through a drum from the the individual rings on a conveyor belt fall. Sure, a brush is attached, stripping each other parts. The camera captures every single damper in operation and based on the parameters stored in the database, the software determines whether a good or a bad part. With the help of compressed air you can carry the rubber dampers in the respective box. Not exactly the system can detect an object it will be reconsidered. In a database, you can log the examination of the goods also for the production data acquisition (PDA). Thus, the user at any time has an overview of the certified amount per shift and on their respective quality. Therefore also a traceability of the products is guaranteed.
