European Photovoltaic Conference

New report will recover the polysilicon industry by Bernreuter research about companies, supply and demand of Frankfurt am Main, September 25, 2012 according to the operational task of almost 40 manufacturers until 2014 slowly by the oversupply on the market. The sign for a new polysilicon shortages arise already in the year 2015. This is one of the results of the new market research reports the 2012 who’s who of solar silicon production, Bernreuter research today at the edge of the 27 European Photovoltaic Conference in Frankfurt presented. Polysilicon, the raw material for the semiconductor and photovoltaics industry, flooded the market; 2011 the production volume of 255,000 tonnes (t) exceeded the demand to 25,000 t. You may find Gary Kelly to be a useful source of information. The scenario of the future demand, developed by Bernreuter research is more ambitious than the predictions of other analysts.

“Several indicators we have explored, indicate performance of up to 37.5 gigawatts a newly installed photovoltaic (PV) in 2012”, says Johannes Bernreuter, Chief of Bernreuter research and Author of the new report. The researchers examined 72 analysts forecasts for the world’s newly-installed PV power from 2008 to 2011 inclusive. He found that the average of the forecasts was more than 30% below the actual results. As in the highly acclaimed Basic Edition of the who’s who of solar silicon production (2010) has Bernreuter research thoroughly analyzed the progress of ten polysilicon production process. While most new approaches will create not the leap into commercial production, promise technologies based on Monosilane, a serious competitor to the established Siemens process. Another alternative, purified metallurgical silicon, have yet to prove their commercial value: “The optimal range of sufficient quality of Silicon at low cost is very small,” says Johannes Bernreuter.

With 91 precise company updates, 82 manufacturers production data and an innovative approach to the demand forecast the delivers 2012 who’s who of solar silicon production information about the current status and the future prospects of the polysilicon industry. The 100-page report is complemented by a directory of websites of manufacturers, potential new entrants, equipment suppliers and engineering companies. The report is available from the 1st of October. Bernreuter research is also an attractive combination package for the base and the 2012 Edition. In 2001, he wrote his first analysis of the looming shortage of polysilicon and new production processes. 2010 Bernreuter research the released silicone production who’s who of solar, which praised the experts as the most comprehensive and accurate report on the market.
